Every year across America people are faced with a serious problem. Floor covering system failures have become one of the most misunderstood phenomena in the modern construction age.
Problem:
Vapor drive is present in all concrete; it changes constantly and is a major cause in damage to floor coverings and epoxy floor failures, not to mention causing mold growth from all the trapped moisture. The lime, PH, efflorescence, salts and Alkalinity are all caustics that eat away the bond line of mastics, adhesives and epoxies; causing delamination.
It is logical then to assume that the floor covering is financially critical part of the building itself. If it fails unexpectedly the cost and ligistics associated with the remedy, after the fact, can be catastrophic. Billions of dollars are lost in America each year due to floor covering system failures.
Solution:
The "Vapor Green" line of Vapor Emission Control coatings has a product to solve your concrete sealing and moisture issues. It is breathable and will control vapor drive to under 3 lbs/1,000sq. ft.(floor covering industry standards)regardless of the vapor drive showing(no upper limits). It has No V.O.C. and is safely applied in a occupied building. These products are backed by a manufactour warrinety. "Vapor Green" is the industry leader in performance for your concrete sealing and vapor emission control needs.
To properly prep a floor you must remove the top carbon layer of concrete. Shot Blasting and Diamond Grinding the edges is the best surface preparation method to achieve a clean, dry and dust-free surface. One of the key elements of this method is to achieve a proper profile for the concrete to be treated. A large number of coating failures are attributed to inadequate surface preparation.
The "Vapor Green" coating is applied using a squeegee followed by back rolling using a nap roller. "Vapor Green" will penetrate and bond tenaciously into the concrete forming a impassable vapor barrier.
